First-person horror TheNightfall tells the scary story of how a girl named Victoria was offered a job in another city. She accepts the offer and moves into a private house with her family. However, her husband and two children are not due to arrive until tomorrow. She has to spend the first night by herself in an empty house.

It turns out that it's not so easy to survive until dawn. As soon as the woman went to bed, she was tormented by insomnia, then she felt unwell, and after that a real nightmare began. You have to hold out for 10 hours until sunrise. TheNightfall is represented by 20 stages that bring the heroine closer to the cherished dawn. The gameplay provides a lot of notes and puzzles. In various records, you can learn about the past of this house, where a large number of children disappeared.

The mansion includes two floors, in the rooms of which you need to perform certain actions. The heroine has only matches, candles and a flashlight to help her light the way. There are moments with jumpscares in the game, but the gameplay for the most part tries to keep you in suspense and scare you with the sounds of the environment. The story gently plunges you into the abyss of fear, initially offering to play on the console, listen to music and watch cartoons in order to let the player remember these moments with delight in the future.
