The latter managed to seal the dark dragon in another dimension. But he vowed to return one day and avenge what he had done. For a long time, he was locked up and people forgot about his promise.

The further action of Shining Force: The Legacy of Great Intention is transferred to the future, where the kingdom of Runefaus has decided to attack ordinary citizens so that they face the consequences of what their predecessors have done. Runefaus plans to free the dragon and gain power over the entire world.

All the remaining humans capable of fighting have found themselves in a situation where only one hero is able to save the world and rescue them from captivity. Those heroes are you. It is on your shoulders that the burden of responsibility for the future of the entire human race falls. Will you allow the dragon to return to our world and carry out the vengeance it once promised??

The gameplay is a tactical role-playing game. You need to control a protagonist who gathers a group of survivors. They can join the party to help the hero fight evil. Each character has their own unique abilities. Combine their skills and upgrade their skills. Move through special tiles during the battle. Fighters are able to move horizontally and vertically.
