Scelestum can be called a multiplayer detective simulator. It has a cooperative and single-player mode. The project has a medieval-fantasy setting. Players are assigned the role of investigators. According to the plot, the monster attacked the village. Gamers are invited to find out together with friends or alone what kind of monster attacked the settlement, and how exactly it happened. To do this, they need to collect clues and deal with puzzles. The gameplay takes place from a first-person perspective. The indie title has replayability. The puzzles and the type of monsters (there are about 10 varieties of them) change with each new playthrough. The location of the items also changes every time.

In Skelestum, the characters have 2 bars. One scale is responsible for health. And the other shows stamina. Multiplayer is designed for a maximum of 4 people. There is a change of day and night. In the daytime, the gameplay resembles adventures, walking simulators, and quests. And when darkness falls, virtual detectives have to avoid dangers and survive until dawn. Sims can walk, run, hold objects, pick up and use things. Objects that can be interacted with are slightly highlighted when aiming at the sight. You can also buy additional equipment for heroes. Money is given as a reward for completing optional side quests. Gold can also be used to purchase upgrades. Upgrades are needed to complete more difficult missions.
