Outrace

Outrace It is able to please fans of old races from eight-bit and sixteen-bit consoles, as well as arcade machines. It's a pseudo-three-dimensional retro racing game in the style of the 80s with a single camera angle (from a third-person perspective), low-resolution pixel graphics and a deliberately lowered framerate. The fleet consists of 8 cars: Kuato, Sutaro, Reikama, Shiare, Goru, Mosuri, Riyanu and Ueno. Initially, only the last car in the list is available. The rest of the cars have to be bought for money. Currency is given as a reward for winning and simply for participating in trips. In addition to prices and names, the vehicle differs in design, color and 4 characteristics: handling, grip, acceleration and maximum speed.

Outrace is the spiritual successor to Out Run. The basic concept here is the same, only without the female passenger in the car. Here, too, you need to pass one large track, which consists of 10 mini-tracks. The user chooses where to go next, at the forks. The structure of the map resembles an inverted pyramid. In the original, one location had to be passed many times to see all the alternate paths. It is also possible to run them separately here, if you want. Mini-locations are called: Zao, Chibata, Owara, Narora, Midori, Aishido, Kiriki, Tokokura, Ryomori, Katari. They have different times of day (morning, noon, evening, and night), roads, and scenery (from palm trees to snow).

In total, 3 modes are available to the player:

• Arcade – walkthrough of the game as it was conceived by the developers;
• Time-Trial – separate time trials based on checkpoints;
• Free Play – free driving without a timer, allowing you to just relax.
