Wolfenstein is a first-person shooter powered by id Tech 4. A reboot of the legendary game series, one of the founders of the genre. The plot is based on myths and legends about the use of the occult by the Nazis during the events of World War II.

The whole game takes place in the town of Eisenstadt, a hotbed of German magic and artifacts of the most ancient civilizations of the Earth. The protagonist is B.J. Blazkowicz, an American OSA fighter. It was infiltrated on the German submarine Tirpitz in order to prevent a rocket attack on London. There, the protagonist finds, for the first time in the story, a magical antiquity – a Thulian medallion.

Many antagonists are already familiar to gamers from the previous parts: Hans Grosse, the last boss, was invented back in the 80s, and General Wilhelm Strasse appeared earlier as the creator of super soldiers.

The gameplay, thanks to the found medallion, is more varied. B.J. not only destroys the Nazis with a variety of weapons: the MP-40, the StG 44, the huge Tesla gun, and there is even an analogue of BFG9000 - the Leichenfaust. The artifact gives Blazkowicz super strength, time dilation, and an energy shield that protects him from hits for a short time. You can improve it thanks to 16 tomes left on locations. Weapons are upgraded for finding caches of Nazi gold.

Multiplayer is a standard two-sided battle. There are three classes: Medic, Engineer, and Soldier. They have their own peculiarities, for example, the Soldier can equip heavy guns and use explosives, and the Engineer runs the fastest, distributes ammunition and manages mines.
