Windforge is an indie adventure about exploring the world on your own castle in the air. The game is a real cocktail of genres and gamer trends: sandbox, platformer, crafting, survival and, of course, RPG. Terraria was the cornerstone source of inspiration and big brother, but the project is characterized by two major differences: a unique plot in a steampunk setting and flying airship houses.

The plot tells about the mysterious planet Cordeus, the most important resource for which is the refined oil of the celestial whale, also known as "oil". "Oil" is the main source of energy and nutrition for the technological society. More intensive modernization of Cordeus required an increase in whaling production, which caused the species of exotic animals to become extinct. To prevent a catastrophe that would return the planet to the Ruins, the Guild of Scientists sends the protagonist to investigate the Aeterkin civilization, which has alternative energy resources. However, the study of this area is categorically forbidden by the government, so the journey is loud, brutal, but under the veil of mystery.

The game offers a gigantic accessible open world consisting of various biomes, land, sea, and skies – one of the main combat and playable zones of Windforge. In addition to the main exciting campaign, dozens of quests, secret locations and a lot of artifacts are available. For a halt, it is always possible to return to the capital to buy new equipment or weapons, chat with a coalition of scientists, exchange information and items, or upgrade the character in such characteristics as: strength, agility, endurance and wisdom.

A cutting-edge feature of the game is the hovering airships that are built from scratch thanks to deep crafting capabilities.
