THE LONGING

The Longing can be immediately called a unique game. The main character is a servant of the king who ruled the underworld. The king has gone into hibernation for 400 days to recuperate, and you need to wait for him to awaken in an empty palace. The timer starts the first time you turn on the game and doesn't stop even when you close the game or shut down your computer. It's up to you how you spend those 400 days. You can explore the caves in search of new trinkets to decorate your room with, or just kill a lot of time exploring the modestly furnished but rather extensive passages.

Don't Look for a Sprint Button. The protagonist is in no hurry, so he moves rather slowly. The whole game is built on the ability to wait. If you don't know what else to do, you can go to the game library and start reading classic books from Nietzsche to Moby Dick. The books are currently only available in English, please note.

The game also has a few different endings, but rumor has it that it's impossible to beat the game multiple times just to watch them all. Not only because it's so long, but also because of the tricky save system that makes it difficult to just start over. Maybe on another computer? Or let a friend pass it and watch his finale?

• A character's slow and unhurried movement can be automated by assigning them a specific route. Then go about your business and come back when the time is right.
• Explore a network of underground tunnels and passages. Even in this empty palace, there are still many different trinkets that will come in handy for you.
• Everything takes time. Can't get to a specific location? Just wait. Something is bound to happen that unlocks your access. A stone will collapse or moss will grow. You'll see, it will help.
• Decorate your home. With each new piece of décor and with each improvement, the speed of the passage of time increases.
• Choose to your liking not only what you will do and how exactly you will play this game, but also how it will end. Choose wisely, you may not have the opportunity to replay it.
