The events take place in the village of Greenfield, where, according to the stories of the locals, a powerful and mystical creature lives, posing a threat to others. The player takes control of a research team that is trying to catch a terrible demon that terrorizes the territories of civilians. The creature used to attack unprotected people and animals, but now it is hunted by a special group with weapons and the necessary auxiliary items to help fight or search for the monster.

The main task in The Goatman is to track down and hunt for a dangerous otherworldly creature that has entered our dimension in an unknown way. The protagonist, alone or together with a squad, begins to explore the available locations filled with animals and points of interest. You will have to place traps and special pieces of equipment around to catch or notice the traces of the hellspawn. The opponent is fast and strong, so if necessary, you will have to use combat weapons or explosives. You can navigate the terrain with the help of a compass, memorizing the map and visited places on your own, completing a mission to eliminate the creature.
