Events TesserAct unfold within a universe based on scientific theory. Here, college student Sam somehow teleports herself to a facility called Heywood-Bowman. Once there, she discovers the Catalyst, a device that can manipulate the laws of physics. So, for example, you can walk on water, climb a waterfall, increase the speed of your own movement, or even stop objects in the air to create improvised steps. But then the heroine faces a new threat - a faulty star engine capable of tearing apart space, which in turn will lead to irreversible consequences.

Now, Sam's main task in TesserAct will be to use the same Catalyst to destroy the engine and return home as soon as possible. She will move through vast locations, solving puzzles and competently using the capabilities of the device to solve current tasks. The in-game world is much larger than it seems at first glance, so the user will have to use special terminals located on locations to get to the right place. The puzzles themselves will be based on the laws of physics and the properties of the device described above. The further Sam goes, the more difficult the quests will become.
