As the player recovers and goes through the "prologue" at Paphos II Station, they are shown that a key aspect of the game is the question. Is it worth continuing to do something if nothing makes sense??

For a long time, the underwater station was abstracted from the outside world, and the picture has not changed much. Only now a real survivor is trying to get out on land. What can he do besides escape?? The entire underwater complex depends on notes that you will read as you progress through the story. The hero moves through the dark hollow of dead corridors, sees old, rejected batteries, reads the labels on them, and one thought occurs to him: if robots have flooded the station, then they must also be powered by something! At this point, the character begins to search for other survivors.

There are no weapons in SOMA. The main task of the player is to outwit the artificial intelligence, which does not sit still, even when you minimize the game. While your character is idle, monsters and robots already know you're not doing anything and are moving towards you. The plot is built on survival, but no one will let you survive.
