Snatcher Uses a cyberpunk setting with a thriller atmosphere. The detective plot tells the story of Gillian Seed. One day, the hero was found near the border of Russia, extinct from a certain virus. The protagonist himself does not remember how he got there, as he suffers from amnesia. After the rescue, the man got a job in J.U.N.K.E.R. This organization sends its "scavengers" to hunt down snatchers. This is the name given to androids that kill influential people, copy the appearance of their victims, and then take their place in society.

Snatcher combines a quest, a visual novel, and a shooting gallery. The narrative begins in 2047. The events unfold in the Japanese city of Neo-Kobe, where the Snatchers are raging. As the story unfolds, the protagonist tries to regain his memory, and also seeks to restore his relationship with his wife, who has also lost her memories.

The "Scavenger" travels through the locations not alone, but accompanied by the Metal Gear MK-2 robot. The Mechanical Assistant carries items (e.g. clues) that the protagonist finds. He also gives him advice from time to time. The gameplay offers to solve riddles, communicate with nepisias (in dialogues you are allowed to choose lines), explore locations and sometimes shoot at opponents. The game doesn't force users to engage in pixel hunting, instead offering a list of different actions to choose from, such as "talk", "take", and so on.
