Smilemo is an old-school platformer whose developers were inspired by the classic hits of the last century. For these reasons, the project is extremely reminiscent of video games that were released for 8-bit consoles. Therefore, you can see pixel graphics here, and the virtual world consists mostly of cubes, triangles and other geometric shapes. Everyone unfolds in a fantasy world – in virtual reality, which was attacked by a virus. Many programs and network files have failed, which promises a complete collapse of the system.

The protagonist of the futuristic story Smilemo is the character Smiley, who must overcome a lot of dangerous obstacles and find fragments of the vaccine code in order to stop the virus once and for all and fix the damage caused to the files. This is far from the easiest task, because the malicious utility has already spread its traps and obstacles across all the numerous levels. It has also created hostile agents that attack any intruder.

The user is obliged to quickly move through the locations and jump on unaffected blocks. They can be easily spotted as they do not have red spikes on them. If the protagonist hits such spikes, he will immediately lose all health points and will be forced to continue from the last checkpoint.
