Silent Hunter 3

Silent Hunter 3 is a new installment in the well-known and respected series of German submarine simulators from World War II. Changes from the previous installments can be seen almost at every turn. First of all, the game uses a modern three-dimensional graphics engine that realistically generates the environment, including: sea waves, light reflections, dynamically changing weather conditions, rain, fog, and more.

Thanks to this, during the game, the player can admire models of real surfaces of submarines or planes, carefully transferred to the game world. This applies not only to the appearance of the individual machines, but also to their internal design. A full three-dimensional projection of the submarine rooms of the time, each of which can be controlled, including: command rooms, radio operator's angle, sonar, anti-aircraft and ship guns.

Each device in these locations can be controlled by the player or entrusted to subordinate units. The crew is another extremely important change in the series. Now each crew member is different, has their own individual 3D model and their own skills, based on which the player will decide whether he will be delegated to work on diesel engines, whether he will work on an onboard gun, on a torpedo bomber or sonar. Once missions are successfully completed, the crew gains experience, becoming an even more effective squad. The player as commander can react dynamically to the situation and, for example, delegate people to assist in the torpedo room (resulting in faster loading of torpedo missiles) or send a command that pressurizes the hull after a deep-sea bomb attack.
