Return is a hybrid of action and adventure. This two-dimensional indie project has minimalist pixel art. It uses a small number of colors. The camera is located on the side. The hero is able to move and roll in two directions, swing melee weapons, and attack opponents from afar with firearms. As he progresses, he unlocks a new arsenal and upgrades it for skill points. Some equipment can be purchased from vendors. There are swords, halberds, shotguns, machine guns, pistols, assault rifles, and so on. The indie game offers to participate in battles with regular opponents and boss battles.

In the story, the hero goes in search of a new life. After 200 years, he unwillingly interrupts his space journey and returns to his planet. When the astronaut is there, he realizes that some kind of cataclysm has happened on his home world. As a result, he has to survive in post-apocalyptic locations that are inhabited by hostile mutants. The astronaut wanders through the ruins of civilization, collects various loot, meets allies and gradually learns the backstory. Defeating adversaries is sometimes rewarded with treasures, Relic Age currency, grimoires, and starship parts. You can also get rewards for completing special tasks here.
