Quake Live - a multiplayer first-person shooter that was previously called Quake Zero. Many maps have been carried over from Quake III and Team Arena. Players battle each other in a variety of arenas. At the start of the match, all participants are given only two weapons: the Machinegun and the Gauntlet.

Other types of weapons depend on the location. They can be picked up in levels, as well as additional supplies. In total, there are 10 types of weapons, including Shotgun, Grenade Launcher, Lightning Gun, Plasmagun, BFG-10K and others. Players battle it out in 14 different modes. Some of them can be played with two modifications: Turbo and Vampiric Damage.

There are 4 types of first-aid kits on the locations, which act on the same principle as armor. You can pick up power-ups such as Battle Suit, Haste, Invisibility, Quad Damage, and Regeneration. There are 5 single items available: Flight, Invulnerability, Kamikaze, Medkit, and Personal Teleporter.

The main modes of Quake Live are:

• Duel - two players compete with each other;
• Free For All is a deathmatch where everyone fights for themselves;
• Team Deathmatch is a team game, the essence of which is the same as the previous mode;
• Capture the Flag - capture the enemy's flag, which you need to bring to your base;
• Clan Arena is a non-respawn match that allows you to use almost all weapons;
• Domination - it is necessary to hold strategic points;
• Race - non-combat matches where you will need to compete for speed.
