There are 63 levels in Micron (51 regular stages and 12 bonus stages). They are divided into 7 thematic zones. Each of them has its own sounds and a separate soundtrack. The gameplay is as follows. The user watches the field from a bird's eye view. It has a device that shoots bullets to the beat of chiptune music. The user's task is to guide these projectiles to the exit of the maze. It is possible to restart the puzzle at any time without having to go to the screen with a non-linear choice of levels.

To do this, you can and should place objects in the right places, from which these projectiles will ricochet from different angles. However, these reflective surfaces cannot be rotated. The number of these items per level is strictly limited. Therefore, a particular puzzle can most often be solved in only one way. The bullets themselves don't bounce off simple walls – instead, they are absorbed by them. Sometimes there are destructible obstacles on their way to the portal. There are also closed doors. To activate them, you need to direct the projectiles to special switches. As you progress, new gameplay elements are gradually introduced, such as portals.
