LOOM

LOOM - a graphic quest, for the first time in the history of video games by Lucasarts, using character control that is not based on verb commands. The backstory is based on the Great Guilds trying to conquer nature. Each guild was jealous of its secret. One of the factions called the Weavers decided not to participate in the confrontation, but went underground to improve their skills. They moved to the remote island of Lum. Religion forbade alliances with other factions. But after Leda Frayed Pile gave birth to a stillborn baby, she used the Loom to give birth to Bobbin. The elders are enraged and fearing a prophecy that the child of the loom will destroy them, they turn Leda into a swan, and the baby himself is given to Mykanitsa, who secretly teaches the child to weave reality.

The gameplay of LOOM is different from most quests. Interaction with objects proceeds in the following way: it is necessary to weave the right pattern in order to affect reality. You will also need to cast a spell consisting of four notes. They need to be played in a specific order. A total of 8 notes are available. Initially, the hero only knows 3. Gradually, the protagonist will discover the rest. The set of melodies is randomly generated and consists exclusively of those notes that the hero knows. Available in 3 difficulty levels. At maximum, the patterns are made solely by ear, without using visual cues. On high difficulty, the game rewards additional cutscenes for each correct action.
