Gaia Beyond is a role-playing adventure with elements of simulation and action, using the space theme as a setting to create the world around. Graphically, the project is made using 2D graphics and a camera located above what is happening. The game supports connecting a third-party controller and collecting statistics about the adventures of different users to organize data and compare players with each other. Thanks to the modern engine, the universe is presented completely open, without reloading individual locations.

The gameplay is based on the exploration of numerous dimensions in an alternate reality, in which the future has already come and human civilization has been able to fully settle in space, as well as on the collection of minerals, resources and equipment. On the territory of the open world presented in the game, the gamer gets acquainted with characters controlled by artificial intelligence in order to receive errands, trade and other types of interaction.

The main quest chain, which tells the story of Ganymede Flu, develops over the course of 10 missions. Additional, optional, quests are present for farming items. There are 40 more of them than the main ones. After collecting a sufficient number of rewards in the form of crafting resources, the player gets a chance to create a new spaceship, including 50 models of different sizes, shapes, with a different amount of armor and laser cannons.
