Freespace 2 - A space action simulator set in the distant year 2367. The game is a sequel to the cult Descent: FreeSpace - a benchmark space western that set a high bar for action, briefing and game design in the genre.

The sequel takes place 32 years after the end of the bloody war. The human race, along with its alien allies, the Vasudan humanoids, did not share a sphere of influence with the Shivans-Aliens coalition. The player begins his journey as a pilot of the Aquitaine unit, gradually moving up the career ladder and joining more and more elite troops. With career growth, the player will be provided with more powerful ships with various cannons: missiles, bombs, space torpedoes to combat turrets and subsystems of powerful ships, etc.D.

Classes of warships:

• Juggernauts are powerful flagships, reaching a length of 6 kilometers and having up to 80 defensive systems in their arsenal;
• Stealth fighters are invisible to radar ships due to low electromagnetic background;
• AWACS - reconnaissance shuttles, particularly useful in detecting stealths;
• Gas collectors are ships that collect gas enriched with deuterium.

The game includes new types of ships for both Earth troops and the allied Vasudan side: GTF Hercules Mark II, GVF Tauret, GTB Boanerges, GTFr Triton and GVG Anuket.
