Citizens of Space is an isometric role-playing adventure that uses cartoon graphics with elaborate animations of movement and communication of the characters involved in the narrative. The gamer finds himself in an alternate universe, in which the era of the distant future has begun. The Galactic Federation is a powerful force in this world, and Earth has just joined its ranks when a disaster of enormous proportions has occurred - the planet, which is the home of human civilization, has disappeared. This serious case is entrusted to the investigation by the ambassador of the people in the Federal Senate, a charismatic young man wearing a dark jacket and blue jeans. His confident gait shows the determination with which he takes on the search for lawbreakers who have committed a global crime against the human race and the entire galactic community.

The gameplay is divided into two parts. The first is to move the virtual protégé in real time through the territories available for exploration. This is necessary to find the necessary things and NPCs to communicate with them. A mini-map is displayed at the top, giving a lot of useful information about what doesn't make it to the screen. The second part of the gameplay consists of turn-based battles with enemy units. The ambassador does not fight himself, he has at his disposal a company of various soldiers, hired in special places.
