The world of "Cave Story" is completely fictional and inhabited by wondrous creatures that look like rabbits and are called mimigs.

The protagonist of the adventure will be an unnamed boy with amnesia, who woke up in an unknown cave in a distant place from his native place. Unable to remember anything of his life up to this point, not even his own name, the protagonist apprehensively leaves the crevasse in search of someone. He wanders into the settlement of the Mimigs, who lead a peaceful, carefree and friendly life to all living beings. But this idyll is disturbed by an evil antagonist – an insidious scientist. The protagonist will have to stand up for the weak mimigs and go on a journey full of battles and obstacles.

There will be more than 15 levels available for exploration with different structures, environments and opponents. More than 20 different bosses will be located in these stages, with different tactics for fighting against them. You need to fight them using one of more than 10 types of weapons, which can also be modified along the way. Many of the gamer's decisions will affect the ending of the passage, there are 4 of them in total.
