Black Mesa is a remake of the cult shooter Half-Life, which at one time turned out to be a breakthrough in the world of video games, and made a name for Valve. This project was worked on for eight years, during which the creators tried to port the old game to the new Source engine with varying success. As a result, they managed to achieve the desired effect and in May 2015 the game was released. The work on the remake was carried out by a team of developers from Crowbar Collective.

The plot, the types of weapons, the opponents, the setting, and the like — all this was lovingly transferred by the developers to the platform of the new engine, which made the visual component of the traditional shooter many times prettier: the graphics began to look quite at the level of the second part of this series (or even better), the physics acquired moments characteristic of Source, such as the realistic fall of opponents after incapacitating them.

All this has improved the perception of the game and now, the young worship of gamers has the opportunity to walk along the corridors of the research station long abandoned by everyone (except for fans), fight alien creatures and enjoy the gameplay for the second time. The game consists of 19 chapters. In general, the plot is completely the same as the one present in the original 1998 version. Some moments were borrowed from the second part.
