Baba Is You is a game in the popular puzzle genre. The project, developed by an indie programmer named Hempuli Oi, uses pixelated graphics and a camera high on top, which creates the conditions for a greater view around the protagonist for a faster response to changes. The single-player campaign is divided into 200 separate levels, with increasing difficulty, expressed in the appearance of much more intricate puzzles on the way to the final scene, and the use of new mechanics.

The gameplay is based on the fact that the gamer has the ability to control and interact in every possible way with the blocks that make up each location where the protagonist is located. By moving walls, obstacles, and other tangible pixels, the player changes the original rules set by the creator and opens access to a non-linear passage of each challenge.

The visual design of the project is made in a minimalistic style, the backgrounds are monochromatic, repeating the color scheme of the territories themselves, which are in the foreground. Important and necessary information for finding the solution to the puzzles is located in the corners of the screen. This is done in order not to distract from the gameplay.
