Ascendant

Ascendant Uses beat 'em up mechanics combined with roguelike elements such as random and permadeath. There is no full-fledged plot. The indie project is dedicated to the confrontations of demigods. Initially, there are several playable characters. The variety of fighters can be increased to 7 by unlocking new heroes by completing challenges.

Levels are randomly generated. They are divided into zones with enemies and traps, chests, random events, shops, and bosses. After the death of a superhuman (there are no checkpoints or usual saves here), you will have to start all over again. In Ascendant, each run changes the order in which objects appear and their location. Keys will be required to open treasuries and doors. They are given as a reward for defeating the leaders.

Demigods differ in appearance and characteristics. They can hit opponents up close, shoot ranged attacks, use magic, dash and parry. The game has leveling. The chosen warrior is allowed to be upgraded by collecting blessings (the effect will be different depending on which slot the bonus is inserted in) and buying weapons with spells. Spells also allow you to upgrade. During the passage, new power-ups and weapons become available. Opponents can be beaten together with a friend, but only while sitting together in front of the same computer. There is no multiplayer mode here.
